Dear Parents,

In accordance with state directives, Boys & Girls Clubs of Mason Valley has adjusted all its sites to keep your children and our staff safe. We are currently open, with strict social distancing and safety procedures in place, in Yerington and Hawthorne to all families. Sutro Elementary in Dayton is currently open to children of healthcare professionals only, and we are working with Lyon County School District and their timeline to open fully in both Dayton and Silver Springs. For more information, click here. The Attic Thrift Store is currently open for business but per state guidelines the Yerington Movie House remains closed.

We understand the impact this has on our families, and we truly appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to reopen for all our families in all our communities.

If any families are in need of food or basic necessity throughout the closure please contact Christina Hurt, Director of Operations at

Boys and Girls Clubs of Mason Valley

Boys & Girls Clubs of Mason Valley will continue to serve its communities’ most vulnerable by delivering and handing out meals five days a week while sites are closed due to the state of Nevada’s COVID-19 measures.

Meals are now distributed twice a week, with Monday and Tuesday’s meals available on Monday, and meals for Wednesday through Friday available on Wednesday. Families in Yerington, Dayton and Silver Springs can have dinner delivered starting at 4 p.m., while the community of Hawthorne can pick up from 4-5 p.m. at the Club’s parking lot. To get on the delivery list, please contact Christina Hurt at or by calling 463-2334.

A Club membership is not required for pickup or delivery, and the service is open to anyone ages 18 or under.

“This is a crazy time for our families, and we wanted to help support the school districts’ efforts to keep a little normalcy in life,” chief professional officer Travis Crowder said. “Keeping our kids fed is something we pride ourselves on, and something we’re thrilled we can continue to do through the closures of our sites.”

BGCMV announced the closure of its normal operations after Governor Sisolak’s announced the closure of schools in Nevada. Questions about the Club’s meal distribution can be directed to Christina Hurt at or by calling 463-2334.
